The Committee also provides information and counsel to the PVO community on issues of concern regarding their relationship with USAID and other agencies, as well as fosters public interest in the field of voluntary foreign aid. ACVFA advises the USAID Administrator and others through deliberations on key issues at the Committee's public meetings, as well as through the work of its subcommittees. The Committee has several active working subcommittees that research and discuss the issues that are brought before the public in order to develop policy recommendations for the Agency. The subcommittees are organized on the basis of key issues that correspond with USAID's Pillars and important crosscutting themes. ACVFA disseminates information to the PVO/NGO community and increases public awareness and understanding of foreign assistance through its public meetings. The Committee did not meet during FY 2010 but plans to resume meetings in 2011. a7ae4775-3865-423c-89f0-ab1fa232c6d7 The Advisory Committee on Voluntary Foreign Aid (ACVFA) provides feedback on USAID's key initiatives including the Fragile States strategy, the Anti-Corruption strategy, Food Security policy, and other efforts to align development assistance projects within the framework of the agency's mandate. 74e29dcc-7f89-4819-a808-62d2bf53bb33 Recommandations The ACVFA provides expert, relevant, and objective advice to USAID and other U.S. government agencies on matters related to the private voluntary community's role in international development and foreign assistance. The Agency Administrator uses the Committee as a sounding board and an ongoing source of advice and recommendations about USAID policies and programs. The Committee's public meetings serve as an established forum for the key constituency of PVOs and NGOs, as well as the general public to receive information about and participate in the Agency's decisionmaking process. The ACVFA provides analysis of foreign assistance issues, and makes recommendations for use not only by USAID, but by other government agencies, Congress, and the PVO/NGO community. The Committee's recommendations have resulted in greater understanding of and improvements in the working relationship between USAID and its partners. c6c1dd02-646c-4981-8387-e3c242be2f5f Make, Accept, Implement e1e29ae3-bc81-45f5-858f-be6bffa0c1b0 3e5847e2-f600-4040-8136-dbd380b07ad8 Recommendations Made Number Advisory Committee on Voluntary Foreign Aid Agency for International Development Unspecified n/a 2010-10-01 2011-09-30 After each public meeting, the Committee provides a report that provides a thorough discussion of the meeting's proceedings and the comments and recommendations for further discussion among the Committee members. 9 2010-10-01 2011-09-30 13858937-b368-42cf-b605-374f97a0d23f Recommendations Fully Accepted Percentage Advisory Committee on Voluntary Foreign Aid Agency for International Development For a variety of its own reasons not applicable to the Committee, the agency may implement all/most of the recommendations, but few times recommendations are not implemented. n/a 2010-10-01 2011-09-30 USAID takes under advisement the recommendations of the Committee but full implementation is impacted by outside circumstances (budget, inter-agency processes for approval, and the nature of the Agency's work overseas). 0 2010-10-01 2011-09-30 fe3f62ef-a263-40dd-8033-b44c34b52a28 Recommendations Partially Accepted Percentage Advisory Committee on Voluntary Foreign Aid Agency for International Development There are sometimes a few proposals which were not funded in their entirety, those few being scaled back from their original level of requested funding (allowable under the program). n/a 2010-10-01 2011-09-30 USAID takes under advisement the recommendations of the Committee but full implementation is impacted by outside circumstances (budget, interagency processes for approval, and the nature of the Agency's work overseas). 60 2010-10-01 2011-09-30 2010-10-01 2011-09-30 2013-07-09 http://explore.data.gov/resource/datasets/c5i3-bb9j Gannon (J.)
