Collaborating in Complex Times: Advanced Stakeholder Engagement About the workshop -- In this workshop we go beyond traditional models of engagement. We explore ways to engage multiple stakeholders with different perspectives and strong interests in co-creating enduring solutions to complex dilemmas. We offer strategies to avoid or manage potential challenges and risks to your projects, including: * Political interference * Legal challenges * Excessive scrutiny of data and decisions by technical experts and stakeholders * Negative media attention * Community angst, outrage, and emotion * Public protests * Activist blockades. Workshop topics -- Collaborative leadership; ‘wicked problems'; complexity theory; Cynefin framework; the paradox of power; the appreciative approach to positive change; how collaboration creates cohesion and alleviates fragmentation; the Collaborative Governance framework; presenting a business case for collaboration; collaboration skills. In addition, we provide an invaluable platform for experienced professionals to come together to share and contribute to lively and relevant discussion and to work together on the practical application to topical issues.
