The Board is also responsible for advising the Superintendent (and, in turn, the Chief of Staff and the Secretary of the Air Force) by making recommendations on matters relating to the Academy. 5b0e1f3c-0aef-4a7e-aa2a-9b4289912215 Recommandations Not Available 435fc8cd-a7f8-411f-b469-ce76e8698e7e Make, Accept, Implement dd3d1bf7-31e3-4e8e-9208-bb82e719fc43 d8313550-0f99-4b3c-a640-a43eccdf01bf Recommendations Made Number Board of Visitors of the U.S. Air Force Academy Department of Defense Unspecified n/a 2010-10-01 2011-09-30 The six major areas of concern for this Board are: 1) Diversity; attracting a diverse and well qualified pool of candidates who deserve consideration for appointment to the Academy. 2) Character Assessment: determining how psychological instruments might be of value to the admission process. 3) Fiscal Requirements; addressing the Academy’s ongoing funding challenges in areas such as civilian pay, athletics, infrastructure, and their training program. 4) The Accreditation Process: seeing how the Board can become more engaged to support the Academies efforts. 5) Cadet Involvement; working with the Academy to instill in the cadets a greater sense of ownership of the Cadet Honor Code and the Academy Training Process. 6) Admissions; reviewing the Congressional nomination process and developing recommendation to increase Congressional involvement. 9 2010-10-01 2011-09-30 47c711f0-a6e9-4360-9599-47a270c07f19 Recommendations Fully Accepted Percentage Board of Visitors of the U.S. Air Force Academy Department of Defense For a variety of its own reasons not applicable to the Committee, the agency may implement all/most of the recommendations, but few times recommendations are not implemented. n/a 2010-10-01 2011-09-30 BoV participation in these issues has been crucial to their subsequent adoption. 78 2010-10-01 2011-09-30 73e3d448-13c9-4760-96f4-d2ad47bf31ee Recommendations Partially Accepted Percentage Board of Visitors of the U.S. Air Force Academy Department of Defense There are sometimes a few proposals which were not funded in their entirety, those few being scaled back from their original level of requested funding (allowable under the program). n/a 2010-10-01 2011-09-30 7 of 9 BoV recommendations have been closed. Of the two that have not been closed:1) Neither adopted or rejected - Development of a 21st Century Commission on educational outcomes is on hold while the Institutional Competency List is completed and published. This is the only currently non-implemented BoV recommendations.2) Partially adopted - Character Assessment Tool developed and initially tested via an initial baseline survey administered during Basic Cadet Training in June 2009. Further testing will occur over the next 1-2 years prior to a final AF decision to fully implement the program. 11 2010-10-01 2011-09-30 2010-10-01 2011-09-30 2013-07-09 http://explore.data.gov/resource/datasets/c5i3-bb9j Gannon (J.)
