The Board supports the University's mission and strategic plan by reviewing each and ensuring they are reflective of Marine Corps' goals and offer the appropriate higher-education focus. They provide oversight and advice to facilitate higher educational standards and cost effective operations. The existence of an MCU Board of Visitors is mandated by the University's regional accreditating agency, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, which requires a governing board for oversight of each of its Universities and is established by statute. d4e386bc-9581-4971-a923-54d0209ccd99 Recommandations Not Available fc2b8398-bf20-4f1e-9ecf-12d2be499090 Make, Accept, Implement da847bb7-c59d-405b-9b2f-314fb90b377d ce29cfbc-4385-47bc-a2f9-17aa63363838 Recommendations Made Number Board of Visitors, Marine Corps University Department of Defense Unspecified n/a 2010-10-01 2011-09-30 The Board was established in 1997.
